Specialized Protection
At Alpha Unit K-9, our teams play a critical role in supporting ICE operations by detecting narcotics, contraband, and unauthorized materials. This function helps prevent illicit substances and dangerous items from entering secure facilities, thereby protecting both staff and detainees.
In addition, we work to enhance facility security and perimeter control. By strengthening monitoring and access measures, we create a safer environment and reduce risks of unauthorized entry or escape.
Our responsibilities also include assisting in detainee transport, intake screening, and emergency response. Whether moving individuals safely, conducting thorough checks during intake, or stepping in during urgent situations, our involvement helps operations run smoothly while prioritizing safety and order.
Finally, a key part of our mission is to maintain compliance with DHS, ICE, and federal detention standards. Adhering to these guidelines ensures operational consistency, legal compliance, and the highest standards of care and accountability within the system.

Contraband Detection
Contraband detection is one of the core missions for Elite K-9s working within ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) service centers. These dogs are specially trained to identify hidden threats and illicit materials that humans or technology might miss.
Elite K-9s are frontline tools for identifying drugs, weapons, currency, and explosives quickly and accurately.
Their combination of biological ability, rigorous training, and handler partnership makes them more versatile and effective than relying on machines alone.

Perimeter Patrol
At ICE Support Centers, Elite K-9s play a vital role in perimeter patrol, serving as both a deterrent and an early-warning system. Working alongside handlers, they patrol fences, entry points, and facility boundaries on foot or in vehicles, using their advanced senses to detect intruders, escape attempts, or smuggled contraband.
We enhance security and efficiency with expertly trained K-9 units to ensure the facility remains secure from external threats while maintaining control inside the perimeter.

Emergency Response
ICE service center K-9s regularly drill for realistic emergency scenarios: bomb scares, active shooter simulations, or evacuation exercises.
In emergencies (like bomb threats, suspicious packages, or active intruder alerts), a canine team can clear areas much faster than human-only teams. During crowd control emergency panic, a K-9 presence helps restore order while still scanning for threats.
If an armed or hostile individual appears, the canine is a First-Line Interceptor by scanning and neutralize the threat quickly, buying time for officers to respond.

Transport Security
Within ICE support centers, transport security for Elite K-9s ensures they are always safe, controlled, and ready for rapid deployment. This involves specialized vehicles, strict handler protocols, secure facility movement, and welfare checks — treating them as both mission-critical assets and trusted partners.
K-9 Units have specialized vehicles, often SUVs or vans, fitted with Secure kennels or cages with climate control that protect the dog during transport.
The assigned handler always travels with the dog; an Elite K-9 is never transported unattended.
